We offer a wide range of downpipes to suit a variety of applications.
Downpipes are manufactured in two standard sizes 100 x 50mm
and 100 x 75mm and come in 2400mm length.
Our wide range of square, rectangular and circular down pipes
are available in ZINCALUME® steel and a wide range of COLORBOND®
steel colours. These down pipes are designed for greater durability,
longer life and compatibility with steel and tile roofs.
They are manufactured from light, strong, high tensile steel
and fast and easy to install. These complement the wide range
of Metroll gutter, fascia, roofing and walling profiles.
Rainwater run off from roofing materials such as ZINCALUME®
steel or COLORBOND® steels should NOT be drained into a
plain galvanised gutter or downpipe.
The protective plastic film should be stripped off immediately
Install gutters with a generous fall to avoid
ponding, but the fall should not be so steep as to be obvious
to the casual observer. Fall on house guttering is often about
1:250 (12mm in 3000mm).
- It is important gutters slope towards the outlets
(a minimum gutter fall of 1 in 500 is recommended).
Without this, slope 'ponding' may occur, reducing
the life of your gutter
- When installing gutters, remove any metal particles
or debris at the end of the day to prevent staining
- Lead and copper are not compatible with ZINCALUME®
steel or COLORBOND® steel
A steeper fall of 1:100 should give the gutter a longer life. The
downpipe size and spacing should be determined in accordance
Downpipes are manufactured out of steel, COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel.
